Nokia X2-01 Discount

Robert A.:Ok, I have had this phone for about 4 months now and figure I would write my first ever Amazon review about it. I bought it mainly because I am currently studying abroad in Australia and needed a sim card phone since I'm usually on Verizon when I am in the states. Anyways, here goes my review:

Talking:
Does everything you need it to do. Speakers are crisp and clean and I haven't had trouble hearing who I'm talking to. Neither has the person I'm talking to had trouble hearing what I've been saying as long as I have service. Clear call quality, and I guess that's all you can really say about it.

Texting/Keyboard:
Great QWERTY keyboard, but I figure that for people with big hands the buttons may be too small. They're perfectly fine for me but took like a week or so to get used to since I had a bigger QWERTY keyboard before, but for the small thin size of the phone, the QWERTY keyboard is definitely effective. The buttons are very tactile and reactive and I haven't had much trouble with it after a week of getting used to it. It can separate texts into conversations between people, rather than listing out the received/sent texts in the order they were received/sent. Usually its rare to find a feature like that in cheap phones and its definitely a plus. There is a dedicated text button on the front that makes getting to your inbox really simple. Overall, a great texting phone.

Kinetix50 "---kinetix50" (Bay Area, California):This phone is great for people who want an awesome, full-featured phone but don't have a 3G plan. I don't have one, and I just wanted a phone that would be good for texting people and playing music. The screen is nice and bright, and provides excellent visibility in sunlight. Since this phone is part of Nokia's "X" series, it has a lot of emphasis on the music playing aspect of mobile phone use. I must say, the media player is stellar. The sound quality is great, it supports many codecs, and there's even a 5 band custom equalizer (which, when tuned just right, can make this phone sound amazing). The phone only comes with 55 mb of onboard storage, the this is easily and cheaply expandable because it sports a MicroSD card slot. I picked up an 8GB micro sdhc card for twelve bucks on Amazon.com (Kingston 8 GB microSDHC Class 4 Flash Memory Card SDC4/8GB).

SteveBaugh :MULTIMEDIA MESSAGING WORKS ON AT&T. It took some setting up, and the people at the AT&T store were absolutely unhelpful, but just google how to set it up on this phone, and once you find the recommended settings, it just takes some looking around through various menus in the phone in both the phone/connectivity settings and the messaging settings to find where to enter the right info. There's no one menu for all the multimedia messaging settings you need, but keep looking and fiddling around, and you'll figure it out.

The phone itself is pretty fast and I don't have any complaints about the software. The conversations feature with messaging is also incredibly useful.

Nokia X3 Slider GSM Discount

 Wooo "Caffene/Whiskey junkie" (San Diego, CA USA) :For those who don't want to renew your contract, this is a wonderful unlocked GSM phone with quite a lot of feature at a very reasonable price.

Before I get started, there is one point to keep in mind. This is an unlocked phone. There is some configuring that has to be done in order to get internet and MMS working with your provider. Nokia used to have a site that would send carrier specific info to the phone, but I believe they have taken it down. You may have to search forums and/or call your carrier customer support for this one. Call and SMS will work "out of box", but anything internet dependent will require some fiddling.

Promise Jones "Promise Jones" (honolulu Hawaii):This phone is amazing. I have had this phone for about a month and it is all that I hoped it would be. I go to the gym daily and it was cumbersome taking my mp3 player and my cell phone to work out. Now, with his Nokia, I just grab it and go. I have my phone and an MP3 player all in one. I love it.

Peter Landy "treeclaw" (Niskayuna, NY USA) :Got this phone today. Right out of the box it appeared impressive, pleasing to eye and touch. Tried to get the back cover off according to the manual's instructions but it was no go. Finally I got my jeweler's screw driver out to try prying around the edges. Fortunately without damage, I've discovered what the manual omitted from their instructions. You have to pry up, gently, the lower back case with a blade or tiny screw driver before pushing down and sliding it out. The bottom part of the cover has two prong like tabs which will prevent you from sliding it until you pry it up first. Having survived this part of the struggle then I proceeded to install the simm card and battery. Looking at the manual again I tried to flip up the simm door and it just fell out. It appears the simm door was already damaged and was just pressed in there hoping to pass for the sale. So I never got past this part and requested a return RMA label from Amazon. The simm door and back cover definitely could use a more robust design. In my humble opinion, while this phone offers lots of pleasing features, Nokia dropped the ball.

Nokia E71 Unlocked Discount

J. J. Tan "audiophile/enthusiast" (Fremont, CA United States):first a comparison to the e61i: i had both the e61 and e61i and this is a major improvement over both. the form factor is incredible as it is only 10mm thin, much narrower than its predecessors, and feels very solid and sleek with its all metal body. the phone is just beautiful to look at. nokia has improved its processor greatly and the phone has almost no wait time with all its functions now. when i went back to use the e61i, it was unbearably slow compared to the e71. the keypad on the e71, although a little cramped, feels good on the fingers. one of my biggest complaints about the e61i was that earphone speaker was hard to hear out of, but the e71's narrower body and seemingly louder speaker solves the problem. the e71 has also added a microUSB port, and 2.5mm earphone jack. in terms of software, the e71 has an updated symbian os that includes some additional features and programs that were pleasant to see. the biggest program improvements for me was the updated organizer and the shortcut key options. for all e61 and e61i users out there, the e71 is a must update to nokia's wonderful line of phones.

 J. Sullivan "linux zealot" (Chicago, IL, USA) :3G -- Despite Amazon saying this is the US Version of the phone (which it is,) this phone does NOT work with T-mobile 3G in the US. T-Mobile 3G in the US uses the 1700 mhz spectrum (you can read on wikipedia as for the reasons why) and there are no 3G roaming agreements with AT&Ts 3G spectrum like there is with EDGE. That being said, I have found that EDGE is fast enough for my web browsing and e-mail use (220 kbps+.) Using GSM/EDGE only also more than doubles your battery life, so this is not an entirely bad thing for T-Mobile users. The 10 hours talk-time and 17 day standby is no joke with GSM either.

Network Settings -- Nokia has a great website that will text you all the internet, voicemail, and MMS settings for your carrier to the unlocked phone.

Rodney H. Diramos "Techie Monster" (Los Angeles, CA United States):As the first phone to run on the US 3G network (and in some areas even faster 3.5 G), I was wondering how well this would work as a modem for my laptop for accessing the internet.

Guess what? I'm using this regularly now to connect my macbook to the internet! I'm giving up my mobile aircard (which costs about $ 70 per month) and I'm just using my unlimited mobile internet. Another positive - no need to take out the usb aircard dongle and insert it into the side of the laptop each time I need to use it!

Nokia Lumia 710 White Discount

Terrance R. Sprague (Westbrook, ME United States):I was partial to Android. Three Android phones later (and also one iPhone later), I decided to take a leap and go with the Lumia 710. I knew it was a low to mid-range Windows 7.5 phone that would not be capable of upgrading to 8, but bought it anyway.

I was VERY skeptical, and anticipated sending it back, but I was pleasantly surprised. It does not lag, freeze up, or display any sort of weird stuff that all of my previous Androids displayed. Plus, it synchronizes with everything...I was heavily invested in the Google ecosystem, and it easily synced all my contacts and calendar.

The interface is where it really shines. Microsoft has done such a great job (I can't believe I am saying this) creating an ecosystem where everything is very similar in look and feel, using the tile approach. It works very well, and I have really fallen in love with this phone.

 Lumia 710:The phone was clearly labeled as UNLOCKED. That's why I bought it. Only to discover it was LOCKED to T-Mobile. I eventually got it unlocked 2 weeks and $25 later, but I was disappointed in the deception. Other than that, the phone is a decent one.

L. Lieuw "Brown monchi" (Willemstad, CUR):In December I buy my new Nokia Lumia 710. In the title of the product they put that this smartphone come unlocked. But when I get it I saw that the smartphone came in a T-Mobile box and it wasn't unlocked. It must be full white it isn't. The back cover is black color. This is really disappointment.

Nokia 6790 Smart Phone Discount

aggiegirl12:I bought this phone for $200 plus tax and I immediately had problems with it. It would turn off right in the middle of calls, the screen would randomly go black, and sometimes the web browser wouldn't work. Within 30 days I wanted to return it to the store, so I called the Straight Talk customer service number but they said not to return it. They said they would give me some trouble shooting steps and if that didn't work I could return it to them and they would replace it for me. The steps they gave me helped for a little while, but then it started messing up again. Of course, now it was too late to return it to the store. I called Straight Talk again and they basically told me it was too bad. So I basically wasted $200 on a phone that only lasted a few months. This was the worst phone and phone service I've ever had.

 Reggie J. Doe "t.doe" (Florida,USA) :The Web is slow at best. It is nothing like a smartphone in this aspect. I don't really know how to explain the differences you'd just have to experience it yourself, all I know is that I don't really like it.
- The camera is useless. There is no auto-focus feature, so taking photos of anything close up is pointless. Your subject would have to be well more than arms length away, so I can't take pics of myself or of anything I hold in my hands (like those bar code things that you scan with your phone and it shows you more details about that item.... Won't work).
- The keyboard is tiny. I don't have the smallest of hands, so it took me a bit to get used to it and not pressing 2 buttons at a time. Also there is no visible number pad on the screen of the phone so if you had to dial a number like 1 800 DIAL US NOW, you wouldn't know which number key corresponds with which letter (This happens to me more often than not).

Oommma (GA, USA) :Not sure if the dropped calls are a phone issue or a Straightalk issue...I just know they are an issue. I been using the phone for over 3 months and drop about 1 in 5 calls. When I contacted provider they felt it was the phone and sent a new one out. Same problem. I feel like I've gone back in time 10 years. The Nokia 6790 is an okay phone if you're not a person that has to have the newest gadget. However, pairing it with StraightTalk means dropped calls to the point of embarrassment. I'm saving money, but there is a cost.

Nokia C6 Unlocked Discount

AA Misra :This is my third Nokia phone and as usual I am very satisfied with this phone.I brought this phone when it had no reviews. Just after buying the phone, I saw some negative reviews after I purchased but still thought of giving it a try. I am happy I did not return it without trying it myself.

The basic features of this phone are really great. It has excellent signal strength and sound clarity. Also touch screen works quite fast and it is very easy to use just like other Nokia phones. The only issue with the phone is the memory which is 2GB but can be extensible up to 16GB. If you use maps, your memory will get exhausted very fast. The camera and music players are also very good.

Eternal Howl (KS, USA) :This is my first smart phone. In the past, I've always opted for cheap and typically prepaid, but after finding I could not call an international cellphone with my cheap Tracfone, and a major disaster had occurred in the country I was flying to, I decided that having a phone that would not work in the country I was heading to, nor the ability to make cellular contact, if I chose, it was time to upgrade.

I can now make international calls to cell phones and landlines. Because the phone was unlocked, it gave me the option to choose what phone I wanted in my price range and to choose between the GSM cell providers. The wireless works great. I can use the wireless feature to access my email and other web functions without having to get charged by a wounded bull (ATT) for traffic. The qwerty keyboard is better than many I have ever seen. The keys are a lot bigger, but the phone is still smaller than the latest HTC models.

Kingmonkey (Los Angeles, CA):I want to do a quick comparison between the Nokia C6-00 and Android phones, specifically Samsung Nexus S by Google. I've been using the Google android phone for the past 11 months and it did EVERYTHING I needed it to do from paying for Starbucks coffee using a Starbucks app so I didn't need to carry my Starbucks card around and accessing multiple MS Exchange accounts to the interface and OS being slick and nimble as well as Google directions/mapping/GPS; the MAJOR downside to smartphones such as Android and others is the fact that they are battery drainers because of the intense use of power for the OS and display especially. I could not last more than 6-8 hours on Android and this is with setting the Display to the lowest brightness at all times which is a pain when outdoors in bright sunlight. That was the ONLY issue with my Android. Anyway, it did everything I needed so I stuck with it. Until recently the sounds stopped working. So I sold it and now I am back with Nokia.

- iPhone screen is 960x640, while N8 screen is 360x640.
- A picture when enlarged will look more blurry on the N8, compared with the same picture enlarged on the iPhone.
- This doesn't mean the N8 camera takes blurry pictures.
- This means the screen resolution is better on iPhone
- This means the camera is better on N8.

Vijay "svijay" (CA):I bought this phone from Amazon, a week back and I own a Nokia N900 too. I wish to compare these two, as Nokia N900 is one of the greatest phones from Nokia.

1) First let me go to internet browsing.

Nokia N900 is the first phone to have full flash player and the major capability is it will play videos directly in the browser, for sites like youtube, facebook etc. Once facebook moved to latest flash player, N900 is not able to play the videos(eventhough there is a hack).

Nokia N8, does not have full flash player, but it has flash lite. I was expecting that the youtube and facebook will not be able to play the videos directly in the browser. To my surprise, both the sites played the video in the site itself, thats really great.

Bookworm "bookworm" (CA, USA):. Navigate anytime with a fantastic GPS module and free life time navigation (including turn by turn voice navigation with street names, lane guidance, speed limit warning, traffic etc.!!). Go buy crap GPS software for iPhone for a huge price (last time checked was more than 50$) and even then that won't even come close to Nokia navigation. Don't forget Nokia owns Navteq (the worlds largest map producer)
2. Transmit FM and play it on your car music system (iPhone doesn't even have a FM receiver)
3. The best camera (those of u who read the misleading review of endgadget, if u r really reading my review, then u r serious and go ahead to search on google to find zillions of unbiased camera review, comparing N8 even against DSLR)
4. Pentaband network support, which would let you use the phone with both AT&T and T-Mobile 3g network!!
5. Dolby surround sound output
6. USB on the go (which means you could connect your USB device with the phone!)
7. Bluetooth 3.0
8. The only OS that has a very complete bluetooth stack implementation (perhaps too technical for some of the readers) that allows u to even control ur powerpoint presentation with ur cellphone (using salling clicker). The poor iPhone guys, no ur phone doesn't have that functionality (crippled at OS level)
9. The OS that gives superb battery life (anyone using Symbian would testify for this)

B. Thomas (Houston, TX USA):I've been on the smartphone band wagon from the beginning. I have used devices from every platform, and I have a high bar for satisfaction. The Nokia E6 does not completely satisfy me, but it does what I need and does it well.

I really became tired of toys posing as phones. How many of you are sick of smart phones which fail the basic premise of being a phone? I know I am and that's what brought me back to Nokia. Simply put, Nokia makes the best phones.

There's a myriad of criticisms I could throw at Nokia, more specifically Symbian. But despite it's short comings, it still manages to offer a compelling device in the E6. Any criticisms you read about the E6's email handling are absolutely true. It's rubbish. However, I have found ProfiMail which brings the power of desktop email clients to the mobile platform better than anything else. Its UI is questionable, but it's an excellent email client. I've never seen a client that handles IMAP boxes this well with incredibly fast and accurate searching. So if you're considering the E6 just go ahead and factor in the $24.99 to include ProfiMail in the price.

 ComputerGenius "Amazonreviewer" (Temecula CA usa):So I basically buy a phone a month. Androids, lg's, samsungs, every nokia (except the n8 and n9 - no keyboards) and I keep praying that one will be the one. This e6 is it so far, even with the most serious Nokia problem ever.

why? because so many other things have been fixed - but not all.

I will try to list all issues with e6 especially as compared to older e72, e63, n97, n97mini, e7, astound (c7)

This e6 does have Anna from factory. Only 8gb of internal mem. SDhc slot. Ultra fast boot up, screen shows main screen in about 10 seconds, tho it does continue to load more in background such as bluetooth and wireless (wifi) connection. Very handy since you will experience random reboots (biggest problem ever! with any nokia!) Reboots happen most often when using the gps and phone is not mounted in a shockproof mount!

 Gustavo Ariel Faza (Buenos Aires, Argentina):Had this baby for 2 weeks now and it is great, highly recommended if you like this kind of form factor. I've had (touch wood) none of the software problems other posters have listed such as random reboots or freezes, but I keep 3rd party apps to a minimum, so maybe that's got a lot to do with it. Love it so far. Here are some pros and cons:

Nokia Asha 311 Discount

Adam Alexander :I bought this because AT&T is raising smartphone prices to unfair levels. This is the closest thing to a smartphone without actually being a smartphone. It cost a third of what my smartphone was costing me and has most of the features. I get unlimited data on this which is very useful. The item is not as described though, it comes with a 2GB SD card, not 4GB. I was planning on putting a much bigger 32GB card in but that is not the point, the description lied. It works on AT&T's network pretty fluidly. All calls and messages are received. It arrived without an ability to connect to AT&T's data network, it took me hours to figure it out until I stumbled upon a video [...] which helped me so much, now the data works. It needs a factory reset because out of the box the apps were not launching right. The free 40 EA games don't seem to work yet for some reason, no big deal though. The screen itself is extremely tiny, they could have added another half inch in there at least. The operating system makes up for that though, it is very user friendly. Except for the fact you can not control the brightness level. If you're willing to put in a half-hour tops of work into this once you get it, it really does pay off.

 CelloChick (Texas, United States):I've had this phone a week now. I replaced a Nokia 6102i and I wanted a phone that did not need a data plan with my provider. One drawback is that the text message interface is presented as conversations, so it's a little different when it comes to finding sent messages or saving messages. You can't delete the facebook, store, online games, and other "data" icons, although there is a provision to customize one of the three screens that opens when you swipe the lock screen. The ringtone is loud enough for me to hear from another room in the house but I'm not sure it would be for someone with much hearing loss, and it takes a couple of swipes to get to the menu where the ringtone volume can be turned up. Also, I had to work a couple of hours to find the MMS settings online since this is an unlocked phone that is not supported by my well-known cell service provider. That was the most difficult obstacle. On the plus side, the on-screen qwerty keyboard is good and the capacitive touch screen is exactly like that on an iPod touch once you turn off the vibration-on-touch feature. It's pretty much impossible to dial this phone inadvertently since the screen locks and can't be unlocked without a deliberate swipe. The camera is so much better than the one I had on my flip phone that I really can't complain. It came with a 2 GB mini SD and uses a Nokia proprietary charger with the tiny pin. It is not heavy at all and doesn't protrude from my pocket like I thought it might. It has Nokia's proprietary ringtones and provisions for adding additional ones. The music player is intuitive and the radio works with the headphones that come with the phone. It looks like the standby battery life is two or three days, a little shorter than what I had on my Nokia flip phone but perfectly acceptable.

OhHaiInternet:I have seen many sites that try to compare this feature phone to smartphones and that would be a mistake. This is NOT a smartphone (despite what Nokia tries to put on their website). That being said, it is probably the best non-smartphone that you can find that will not cost you an automatic data plan charge on your bill. You see, I have AT&T as my cell phone provider and they will automatically charge you a data plan once their computers recognize that your SIM card is in a smartphone. I made that mistake when I bought a smartphone without knowing their policy and I was automatically put on a data plan for that month. At that point, I put my SIM back into my old Samsung and sent the smartphone back.

[CAMERAS]: The main camera is a 5MP Carl Zeiss, the same as the Nokia N97. It comes with a sliding shutter to protect the recessed lens. There is also a front-facing 640x480 webcam. The camera interface is the same as the S60. The image quality is sharp, skin tones are vivid and there is very little, if any, chromatic aberration at the edges. The camera uses the accelerometer when photographing so the photo viewer can show the picture "up" however the N900 is held. Take a portrait picture and view it landscape and it'll be small. Turn the device and it'll fill the screen. There are the following modes: Automatic, Macro, Portrait, Landscape, Action, and Auto video. The camera can take 848×480 resolution video at 25 fps. The video quality is crisp, recording at an impressive 3000 kb/s but the framerate usually drops to 20fps and the audio has a noticeable metallic tone. The camera also works with Adobe Flash.

TrekGeek (Florida) :I received my n900 just a few days ago from Nokia USA. For the purposes of this review, I will compare it to my previous phone, the HTC G1. My opinions are solely based on the user experiences in the past days with the n900, and since I've never owned an iphone, I will not compare it to such.

 Kevin Nicholls "jaded, aging hipster" (Milford, MI) :I pre-ordered my N900 the moment I found out about it, back in September. And I patiently waited, and waited, while watching every demo, preview, and review I could find. With each passing day, I knew I was closer to mobile bliss. And one day, my N900 arrived.

Sadly, it didn't really deliver.

Having (briefly) owned an N97, I was incredibly disappointed to discover that Nokia has tried their hardest to port elements of Symbian phones to the Maemo platform. Once you're past the (admittedly awesome) desktop effects, the N900 feels disturbingly similar to the N97 in terms of use.
